“Filipino Friends Help Seniors Welcome the New Year”
One hundred parishioners gathered Thursday to celebrate 2025. A slideshow reviewing last year’s festivities played while the guests enjoyed a buffet of orange chicken, spring rolls, veggies, rice and Asian salad from San Diego Catering Co.
Flutes of sparkling cider were raised in toast as the guest performers took the floor. The Filipino Friends Cultural Dancers and their M.C. Johnnie delighted the audience with pleasant music and folk dances. The crowd even got to sing, “Sweet Caroline”! The final dance included over twenty audience members attempting to mimic the graceful movements of the dancers – quite entertaining.
We’d like to thank our Filipino parishioners for supporting the luncheon and invite you all to join the fun on the 3rd Thursday of each month. We will be celebrating St. Valentine’s Day on Thursday, Feb 20th. Italian cuisine and romantic songs from the 70’s are on the program. Please sign up in the narthex after Feb 8th.
