“O Come, All Ye Faithful”
And come, they did! The Senior Christmas Luncheon drew quite a crowd on Thursday. Decked out in holiday outfits, ninety guests filled the hall with cheerful conversation and laughter. Christmas trees, wreaths, banners and lights gave the parish hall an infectious festive feel. (Thank you, Bert and John, for your extra efforts.)
Our seniors began the luncheon by writing Christmas cards that will be distributed by the Navy chaplain to patients at Balboa Hospital on Christmas Day. Father Steven led the group in grateful prayer to our Heavenly Father. Parishioners and family members then enjoyed a scrumptious ham dinner, catered by Greg from San Diego Catering Co. As dessert emerged, so did a special guest – Santa Claus! With the help of his elves, he brought a small stocking to each of our guests. Next came the Christmas carol sing-along, led by Bobbie Cawdrey, one of our cantors. She was joined on stage by the Hargroves, the Ohles and the Grinch (Capt. Jack). We are grateful to the many hands that make these luncheons so fun.
Please join us on Thursday, January 18th, as we celebrate the New Year.
