Martha has been at OMC for over ten years, tirelessly keeping our kitchen, offices, and breezeway clean and tidy.
Martha has a smile for everyone she meets, and her generous heart shows in how she shares her time, talent, and treasure. Martha regularly brings food, plants, etc. to OMC staff and cares for the people in need that she meets by sharing food, clothing, and fellowship with them. Additionally, Martha cared tirelessly for our two in-residence retired priests, Father Tom Prendergast and Father Richard Hopkins as their health deteriorated, taking care of them far beyond the call of duty. We are deeply grateful to Martha for this.
Martha came to OMC from Immaculate Conception Church in Old Town San Diego, where she worked for Father Mark Campbell for many years. Martha’s husband Pedro has also assisted Fr. Mark periodically for many years, and her daughter Joy has volunteered her time at OMC helping with office duties and using her artistic abilities to draw the beautiful pictures for Christmas and Easter on the Gathering Space Welcome Center board.
We will all miss Martha and her whole family greatly, as they move back East to be closer to family. Please join us in thanking Martha for her heart warming patronage at OMC!
