Beloved Parishioners and Friends of Our Mother of Confidence:
Last weekend at all of our weekend Masses we celebrated Commitment Sunday for our “Joyful Living- Grateful Giving” Parish Increased Offertory Program. We had parish families speak as Lay Witnesses at all of our weekend Masses and witness to us of how they value their Catholic Faith and are living as faithful stewards here at Our Mother of Confidence parish. I am sincerely grateful to each one for accepting my invitation to do this. I am grateful for their time and for their bearing witness to our parish community on how they are participating in our important ministries and how we as a parish are bringing Christ into the lives of others.
Following the Lay Witness sharing we had some quiet time as an opportunity to reflect and renew our sacrificial commitment to support the mission of Our Mother of Confidence parish. Each registered household had already received in the mail a Commitment Card together with the Program Brochure and a letter from me. Those who did not receive our mailing Commitment Cards were given cards by the Ushers. Then, as a faith-filled community we presented our Commitment Cards and made a covenant with God to support our parish’s mission by bringing our cards up to the altar and dropping them in special baskets.
I am deeply grateful to each person who, as a faithful steward, has completed a Commitment Card. Being faithful stewards means that we are grateful for who we are and all that we have as gifts, talents and blessings from God. Your sacrificial commitment of financial support will enable us to sustain the ministries and programs already in place in our parish and as faithful stewards of all that is entrusted to us to continue to serve all the members of our parish family from the little ones in nursey care to the most elderly parishioners who are homebound.
For this I simply say: Thank you dear friends! May you be richly blessed for your sacrificial stewardship.
