Reach More – Connect to Christ

Our Mother of Confidence recently completed its first cycle of “Reach More – Connect to Christ”. These small groups meet weekly for 6-7 weeks and there will be 2 “cycles” every year with our next cycle schedule to begin this fall.

Our first cycle was a big success with 7 small groups including 76 participants plus their facilitators. We received a lot of positive feedback form our participant survey including these comments:

“I felt that I was no longer on this journey alone.”

“I was able to better live my faith by sharing it with others.”

“It was a great opportunity to make new friend and build our parish community.”

These small groups are designed to help us deepen our faith and grow in connection with Jesus and others, while growing our parish community. They are led by parishioners who have been trained in facilitating Spirit‐filled conversation. It is our hope that we will be able to add even more small groups and continue to grow more and more as a parish community. Other parishes in the diocese have had great success with their groups and one of them now has over 400 people presently involved.

These small groups will gather in a variety of locations – such as peoples’ homes or local coffee shops – to discuss life and faith, reflect on a scripture passage and discuss how it might apply to our daily lives – as well as pray for and with one another. There are no teachers and students in small groups, just friends seeking and discovering God.

The groups are open to women and men – 18 and older – whether you are married or single – working or retired – children at home or “empty-nesters”. These groups are perfect if you simply want to be around other people who want to experience more of the peace, hope, and abundant life that Jesus said he came to give us.

Registration for our second phase for Reach More is open now and registration cards are available in the gathering space. Small group meetings will be available at a variety of days and times to suit your schedule. The small groups will meet for 6 weeks beginning the week of September 24.
