Our Mother of Confidence Youth Ministry develops community among the youth of the Parish, while encouraging their faith. Along with Faith Formation classes, we offer Junior High and Senior High Service Opportunities, Community Building Activities, Team Ministry opportunities that enhance Youth Ministry at the Parish, and Retreats.

YOUTH MINISTRY – Classes (grades 7-12) meet on Tuesday evenings at 7:00-8:30 pm or Sunday afternoons (usually twice a month) at 3:15 – 5:15 pm in the Parish Hall. The classes are led by trained and certified Catechists. Classes begin in September and end in the second week of May. Usually youth in grade 10 receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, which has a two-year preparation. All youth in the Confirmation preparation are required to attend a Retreat each year (High School), and do 20 hours of service.

TEAM MINISTRY – All confirmed youth in grades 11-12 we invite you to participate in our Team Ministry. There are many parts of Team Ministry, that support all areas of the Youth Ministry Program.  One part is retreat planning, and that group meets on Sunday evenings, for Mass @ 5:30 pm, then gather in Serra Hall (till 8:15 pm). Our confirmed youth also help plan the retreats for the youth in our Confirmation preparation process. Our Team Ministry is also responsible for special days for parents and youth, organizing Service Opportunities and Community building activities. The REQUIREMENT is that you must be Confirmed before joining the Team. The commitment is for a year and Team Ministry begins in June and ends in May.

RETREATS – Our Mother of Confidence parish holds an average of two retreats per year. The different retreats are open to different age groups depending upon the theme. Retreats are a requirement for the Confirmation process and at least two must be completed before a Sacrament — Fall Retreat for 1st Year Candidates, and Spring Retreat for 2nd Year Candidates.

CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS – All youth who attend Catholic High School must register in the parish Youth Ministry program at Our Mother of Confidence to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. All youth in 7th and 8th grades are also welcome. Please call the Youth Office for registration information. All students are required to attend Youth Ministry classes (# listed in Program information) and attend an Youth Ministry Retreat experience each year.
