The Knights of Columbus and their families will be collecting donations of cash, checks and bottled water after all Masses this weekend.
The cases of water and the proceeds from this campaign will be delivered to Veterans Village to support the 30th Annual Operation Stand Down.
This event serves the many homeless vets that live in San Diego. They are provided with a hand up and a place to belong once again to a community.
When veterans walk into the gates of Stand Down they are greeted with a handshake, open arms and a delicious breakfast.
They are then assigned to a tent where leaders will assist them in accessing the services they need.
– Immediate visits to the clothing tent
– Showers
– Barbers
– Makeovers
– Medical, dental and optical services
There are homeless and family courts, counseling, VA benefits, employment and job counseling, integrative medicine, recovery providers, shelters and more.

More than 12,000 meals will be served by veterans’service organizations, service clubs, local chefs and businesses.
Nearly 4,500 volunteers give up their time and expertise to lend an ear and a heart to those who served us so well.
For perhaps the first time in many days, maybe months or years our veterans have a safe haven to put down their burdens and lift themselves up to the possibilities of change.

Please be generous with your donation and know that 100% of what is donated will be forwarded to Veterans Village San Diego.
